Equipment or mat training

Are you currently pregnant, or have you given birth within the past few weeks? Do you want to take advantage of Pilates training as a way to take a concrete step in the right direction for your well-being, despite the physical changes you have undergone? Then you are in the right place with us. Pilates is ideal as part of a pre- and postnatal exercise program to improve posture through the strengthening of the abdominal, back, and pelvic musculature. Since 2019, Body Line Pilates Studio City offers Pilates sessions on both the mat and equipment, during and after pregnancy, at a convenient time of your choosing in the center of Zurich, for small groups, individual private sessions, or semi-private (groups of 2). Body Line Pilates Studio City is certified by the BGB Schweiz (Association of Health and Exercise Professionals in Switzerland) and as such is recognized by health insurance companies.

If you are interested in Pilates equipment training, you can participate privately, semi-privately (in pairs) or in small groups of maximum 6 students. The Body Line Pilates Studio City has all the necessary equipment such as Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Spine Corrector and the Avalon. With these devices we put together an individually tailored training program, which is carried out under the supervision of the instructor, so that each course participant can be looked after individually. Each exercise is based on a specific economical posture. A good posture is achieved through regular training and above all by strengthening the supporting muscles in the torso, abdomen and back area.

The mat training courses are conducted in small groups of 3 to max. 6 participants, so that they can be individually supervised by the trainer. Each exercise is based on a specific pose designed for economical alignment of the posture. A good posture is achieved through regular training and above all by strengthening the supporting muscles in the torso, abdomen and back area.

Why Pilates during and after pregnancy

A strong abdominal musculature not only helps to maintain a good posture, but it also supports the pelvic region in which the baby grows. In addition, strong pelvic floor muscles are essential for a woman’s health and well-being and also play a very important role during pregnancy. The abdominal muscles and the pelvic floor are involved in the expulsion of the baby during birth, so it makes sense to strengthen them in the prenatal phase. Studies on prenatal training show that women who exercise regularly and therefore have stronger abdominal muscles and pelvic floor experience easier contractions and recover faster from childbirth.
